Hyderabad Celebrates Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2024 (In Person)

The event will feature talks and workshops by experts in the field of accessibility and inclusive design, as well as hands-on demonstrations of assistive technology and accessibility tools. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals and gain insights into the latest trends and innovations in the field of accessibility. This event is for everyone who believes in: Building a more equitable and inclusive society. ⁠Making technology and information accessible to all. ⁠Empowering individuals with disabilities to reach their full potential. Improve Bitcoin Wallet Accessibility (Virtual)

Our first event for accessibility day last year worked out great, so we’ll continue on in 2024 with hands-on improvements to the accessibility of bitcoin software used in the wild. We’re still planning, but will likely have an introductory work-session and then facilitate test, review, and report sessions. Free GAAD Workshop: Stem to Stern Accessibility (Virtual)

In celebration of GAAD, join us for an all-day workshop, Stem to Stern Accessibility. Whether you work in a large or small organization, follow an agile or waterfall process, are experienced or just starting out, this workshop will guide you toward reliably developing accessible and usable products. This workshop is structured to be inclusive and engaging to all skill sets and levels. Through a mix of lecture and highly interactive group work, this workshop covers everything from the beginning to the end in developing a high quality, accessible product. This includes product requirements, procurement, design, development, release, maintenance, and support.

A Virtual Conversation with Alice Wong (Virtual)

Workday’s Product Accessibility Team and the People with Disabilities EBC presents a celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)! This year, Workday is celebrating GAAD by hosting a virtual conversation with disability activist, writer, media maker, and consultant, Alice Wong. Alice lost her ability to speak last year, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still have a lot to say. Signal Centers Accessibility Expo (In Person)

This year’s accessibility exposition provides an opportunity for vendors in the accessibility space to showcase products or services to individuals who may benefit from them. There is also an informational opportunity to hear what other organizations are doing in the world of accessibility, how Signal Centers’ Assistive Technology Services is serving the Chattanooga community, and ways to get further involved in the Signal Centers Accessibility Taskforce.

All Abilities Expo (In Person)

Founded by the Northern Territory peak body for people with disability, the “All Abilities Expo” is a unique and interactive event that connects people with disabilities, carers, guardians, and families with disability service providers, community services, and government. The expo provides the opportunity to learn more about what is available in the Northern Territory, discuss individual requirements, and enable individual rights to choice and control. The expo also provides an opportunity to showcase presentations that promote inclusion, accessibility, equity, and diversity as a means of building awareness on the day. In promoting equity, admission to the “All Abilities Expo” is FREE to the community and includes “come n’ try” activities like wheelchair basketball, rugby, AFL, dance, craft, chess, as well as sensory stations, an animal petting area, face painting, balloon artist, and free food. As part of raising awareness, the “All Abilities Expo” is running on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) as a way of spotlighting current programs and businesses that are inclusive and accessible, as well as promoting the opportunity for others to make the move towards inclusion, accessibility, equity, and diversity.
